The National Museum of Korea in Yongsan, Seoul, has placed five rare Dunhuang Buddhist handwritten sutras on public display together for the first time. Preserved for nearly a millennium in the Mogao Caves along the ancient Silk Road in China, four of the manuscripts belong to the museum's collection and one to Seoul National University's Kyujanggak Institute. The artifacts are exhibited in the Central Asian Gallery on the museum's third floor as part of a special collection showcase that opened on October 23.
