South Korea's Meteorological Administration issued the autumn's first cold wave advisories for mountain districts in Gangwon Province, including Taebaek and Pyeongchang. Inland morning temperatures across the country are dropping between 3°C and 14°C (37°F–57°F), accompanied by strong gusts reaching 55 km/h (34 mph) and rough sea warnings off the southern coast and Jeju. Afternoon highs will still reach 20°C to 24°C, creating a sharp daily temperature swing of around 15°C.

So what

Pack warm layers and a windproof jacket if traveling outside Seoul or heading into high-elevation hiking trails where early morning frost and ice are developing.
